Assistant Commandant Janey of Coast Guard was adjudged ‘First in Overall Order of Merit’ while flying officer Ankita Choudhry was adjudged ‘Most Promising Trainee’ at the end of the 99th Air Traffic Management and Air Laws (Basic) course at the Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal, near Hyderabad.
The graduating officers will soon be shouldering responsibilities as air traffic controllers at various military airfields. During the valedictory function, 13 officers, comprising those from Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard and Vietnam Peoples Air Force passed out as fresh air traffic controllers.
Air Marshal Amit Tiwari, Commandant, Air Force Academy, highlighted the criticality of Air Traffic Controllers’ role in the mission accomplishment of Indian Air Force.
