Safran Data Systems has secured orders from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for VS1510 series mission recorders to be equipped on the entire future fleet of Light Combat Aircraft Tejas MK-1A. Safran claims that VS1510 Airborne recorders/servers provide efficient, reliable, and affordable resources for field/mission data acquisition, processing, storage, exploitation, and dissemination, for the on-board operation of manned or unmanned ground, air, and sea vehicles.

VS1510 has solid-state devices that have an AES-256 XTS encryption algorithm that supports 2TB of removable storage for High definition video, processing, and recording and are qualified for operations in harsh environments.

VS1410/VS1510 airborne recorders are also equipped on the Dassault Rafale fighter jets in operation with the Indian Air force.
