Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday said he would urge the Defence Minister to simplify and expedite clearances required for shooting war movies and biopics on war heroes.

Captain Amarinder made this assurance to Producer-Director JP Dutta, when the latter called on the Chief Minister, along with the team of his next movie, Paltan. The movie is centered around the 1967 India-China clashes at Nathu La (Sikkim).

Dutta, who is currently shooting for the movie in Punjab, said filmmakers were seriously constrained by the fact that multiple clearances were required while making defence-related movies.
This led to major delays, often deterring film-makers from making such movies, said Dutta.
