Pakistan, who has often been called out on various international forums for harbouring terrorists on its soil, has now made a bizarre charge against India and has reportedly issued a threat alert alleging that India’s intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing – RAW, was planning to target Jamaat-ud-Daawa terrorists such as Abdul Rehman Makki and Hafiz Saeed.
The neighbouring country’s allegations certainly prove that Pakistan has indeed become a haven for the JuD terrorists.
In fact, Pakistan has also reportedly alleged that there was a “handler” in the country who had been tasked to target Makki in his office, at his house or a restaurant in Karachi, which he frequently visits. The threat alert issued by Pakistan also reportedly mentioned the names of other Jamaat leadership including Zaki-ur-Rehman, Teacher Abu Shoaib, Javid, Mufti Abdul Rauf, and Dawood.
Meanwhile, the Indian government has rubbished Pakistan’s allegations, saying that it was mere “propaganda” on Pakistan’s part, sources said. “This is deliberate propaganda and an effort by Pakistan to judge India by its own standards. India isn’t Pakistan,” the government sources said.
It is to be noted here that Saeed, who is the founder of Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group is the alleged mastermind of the deadly 2008 Mumbai terror attacks in which at least 166 people lost their lives and 300 others were injured. The attacks took place after 10 Pakistan-based terrorists entered Mumbai and unleashed carnage in the city across several places on the night of November 26, 2008.
In fact, an updated list of terrorists and terror-organisations by United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) features 139 citizens from Pakistan, including Hafiz Saeed. He is also under the Interpol scanner for his terror activities.
