The Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) has received a repeat order to supply intermediate cartridge bullets to the United States. The bullets will be manufactured by Ordnance Factory, Varangaon in the Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. The OFB said in a tweet, “The OFB has received a repeat order for cartridge 5.56*45 mm NATO ammunition from the USA”.

The supply of ammunition is for the civilian market in the US. The 5.56*45 mm NATO MI93 Ball ammunition is an intermediate cartridge bullet, which means it is shorter than battle rifle cartridges but still has a higher length than civilian or personal weapon cartridges.

Since the previous order was supplied on time and was of the right quality, OFB was asked to supply the same units of repeat orders from an unnamed US ammunition retailer. OFB has not disclosed order value and cartridge bullet supplied in the previous orders, but informed sources close to have said that since it was the first order from a US ammunition retailer, the quantity was not large since they’re still testing this and getting active feedback from their supply chains and customers.
