Prime Minister Narendra Modi became first Prime minister of India to ever visit Aero India Defence exhibition from its inception in 1996, after inaugurating of Aero India 2015. Modi later pitched for “Make in India” in defence and invited various defence companies to make India their manufacturing hub, Later Modi visited various stalls put up in Aero India 2015 and also Checked out LCA Tejas which was part of Static Display .
Modi was also given a full tour of Lca Tejas Simulator installed on the premises which will give visitors a chance to fly Tejas. Modi was also seen engaging with the senior scientist from Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) who have developed Lca Tejas.
ADA is hoping that Big Push for development of 5th generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) from Government of India will come after Aero India 2015 in terms of sanction of official funds from MOD for its development . ADA is also shifting it focus on immediate development of MK-2 variants for both Indian Air force and Indian Navy .
Information flowing in from Aero India 2015 to idrw.org have indicated that ADA will start working on first MK-2 aircraft from 2016 on-wards and preliminary design of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mk-II will be completed in next two months , ADA officials seems confident that first fully assembled MK-2 will be ready by 2018 for its first flight and enter Production by 2020.
