According to ” Express News Service” report, Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI) is close to clinching a deal for 67 Surveillance Drone tenders that were floated by the Indian Army earlier this year in April after it cleared the aural signature, high temperature, and damp tests impressing Army officials in the demonstration trials.

While the report doesn’t mention which Rotary-winged drones were on offer but it seems it was WanderB-VTOL Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) Electric Mini-UAV developed by BlueBird Aero Systems, an unmanned aerial systems manufacturer based in Israel but promoted by Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI) is only one that fits the criteria.

Indian Army RFI had asked for a Surveillance Drone that can offer day and night cameras with 4K Cinema Video Resolution and Full HD Imaging System resolution an operational endurance of not less than 45 minutes and can take photographs and record video clips at temperatures ranging between -5 degrees and 55 degrees Celsius. Besides, they can transmit videos in real-time.

The report says that the IAI drones were found to be most effective along the Indo-Pak border, especially in Rajasthan, Punjab, and Gujarat, and “failsafe features” such as return to home on communication failure or when on low on battery and features such as global satellite system, and an autonomous flight terminal system was found impressive.

RFI calls for this drone Manufacturing location to be in India so most likely ToT might happen with a local Indian Company once the deal is inked.
