Naini Aerospace Limited (NAeL) a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bengaluru based Genser Aerospace for cooperation in the design and development of Genjet Light Business Jet called, GLJ3X1 RAJAS that the company had displayed at the recently concluded Aero India 2021.
Genser Aerospace has proposed development of two variants of its Genjet GLJ3X1 called RAJAS-Kuleen that can carry 2+7 people to travel across India and SAARC countries. RAJAS-Kuleen has an MTOW of 4990kgs and will be powered by Twin Turbofan engines generating 9.3kN each with a range of 3300km and max cruise speed 0.79 Mach.
The Second variant called Genjet GLJ3X1 RAJAS-Rakshan could be used for VVIP transport, Aerial reconnaissance missions, and Maritime reconnaissance missions and could be optionally Piloted.
Genser Aerospace had displayed scale models of the proposed aircraft at Aero India 2021 and also has developed a 1:1 full-scale model of the display to interested vendors and partners who could like to join them in its development. Genser Aerospace claims that the requirements for Light Business Jet worldwide are around 1200 by 2033, of which 50% are in the Indian domestic market.
