According to latest media, reports 24 Rafale fighter jets to be supplied to Egypt by France will not be able to carry Nukes. Reports say that undercarriage will be modified in Rafale jets which will make them unable to carry nukes.

Aircraft will also be supplied minus NATO standard communications systems since Egypt is not part of NATO alliance. When idrw.org asked Defence expert Vinayak Shetty if Rafale supplied to India will be Nuke Capable.

He responded Positively and said ” If Rafale deal goes through India definitely will get Rafale which can carry Indian nukes under its belly, he also pointed out that ” IAF’s main go-to aircraft to carry out Nuke strikes delivered from a fighter jet will be French supplied Mirage-2000 ” which has been found with better strike capabilities then Jaguar Bomber aircraft used by IAF.

IAF’s Sukhoi-30 can also carry Indian nukes, but Experts say that that job has been reserved for Mirage-2000 aircrafts in IAF for some time now and will remain so till it is replaced by a better jet.

France uses Nuclear air-launched cruise missile; Air-Sol Moyenne Portée (ASMP) to deliver singular variable yield ‘TN 81’ Nuke warhead which will be replaced by new cruise missile which will have (TNA) 200 kT warhead. French airforce has Dassault Mirage 2000N and Rafale, fighter jets which have been deputed for Air delivered Nukes.
