                      BAE Systems M777 Ultra Light Howitzer

After carrying out successful Engineering trials of Countries first indigenously developed 155-mm/52-calibre Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) developmental partner Kalyani Group has now announced that first prototype of Bharat 155mm/39 Ultra Light Long Range Howitzer will be ready by July this year to commence engineering trials.

Ultra Light Long Range Howitzer will be equivalent to M777 Howitzers Guns manufactured by BAE Systems. Indian Army has placed orders for 145 M777 Howitzers and by mid of this year, few M777 Howitzers will be handed over to Indian Army for homologations ammunition trials in India.

Bharat Ultra Light Long Range Howitzer weighing 4500 kgs will be developed using lightweight expensive materials like Titanium and Aluminium alloys and will have performance similar to M777 Howitzers as per Kalyani Group.

Kalyani Group is confident that new gun will achieve a level of success which ATAGS was able to achieve in its initial engineering trials and company is looking at long time requirement of Indian Army and hopes indigenously developed Howitzer will compliment expensive imported M777 Howitzer in Indian Army in near future.
