Fresh Images taken from a low earth satellite show that China has constructed a new radome on the disputed Finger 4 and Finger 8 around the Pangong Tso lake. Satellite imagery expert Damien Symon tweeted the above image.

Symon claimed that the images also show under-construction solar panels, and feature a view of radar. Indian Defense analysts who spoke to idrw.org claim that forward-looking radar surrounded by mountain peaks has limited utility.

Experts are of opinion that PLA wants to send a message across by building such permeant structures even though they don’t enhance combat effectiveness.

Radome are used so that it allows electromagnetic signals to come in without distortion while protecting radar from bad weather.
