A rusted anti-tank mine was found in a field in a forward village along the international border in J&K’s Samba district, police said on Tuesday. “Around 10am, a rusted anti-tank mine was found at Galiard village close to the international border,” said a source, adding that villagers immediately informed the cops and a police team rushed to the spot and isolated the said mine by placing sandbags.

Later, a bomb disposal squad was called from Samba and the mine was defused. Samba SSP Rajesh Kumar said, “The mine appeared rusted and might have been exposed during recent heavy rains.”
